2016 marked the 20th year for Academy Fencing Club and my fencing career. In that year we were honored to be recognized as one of the “Best Fencing Clubs” by a national fencing club ranking organization. During my 20 plus years, I have worked hard as an informal ambassador for the sport of Fencing to promote and develop it here and around the world. Over the years I have taught thousands of youth and adult fencers the great sport of fencing. Also, in 2016 I enjoyed competing in the World Veterans Championships in Germany, placing number 2 out of pools before suffering a major rotator cuff tear followed by surgery and months of rehab. As with any sports career, I knew it would eventually end and that time for me had come.
I have closed the doors to my Academy Fencing Club and I am no longer coaching or teaching fencing classes.
In looking back on my long fencing career there have been many success stories and I have made many personal friends among fencers and their families who have become like family to me. I want to thank you for all your years of support and friendship which I value above all!
